Basic Information –

Tomatillos are a green, tomato-like vegetable wrapped in a sticky papery husk. We like to use them in our favorite tomatillo salsa recipe with homegrown hot peppers.

 

Growing Conditions -

Tomatillos thrive under the following growing conditions:

• Temperature Range: above 65 °F
• Light: 6-8 hours daily
• Soil: well-drained
• Water: about once daily, 1-1.5 inches per week

Harvesting -

Days to Maturity: 75-100 days after transplant

You will know your tomatillo is ready to harvest when the papery husk cracks open and reveals a full sized fruit, around 1 or 2 inches wide.
